GI Norden Workshop and Summer school 2010
The 22nd Nordic GIS Conference in 2010 will be held in Selfoss, Iceland 14th-16th June. It will be held as a workshop, including the GI Norden summer school. The deadline for Call for Abstracts is extended to 15th March 2010.
New general manager of GeoForum in Norway
The board of GeoForum has appointed Marianne Meinich as new general manager (head of secretariat) of GeoForum. She will start in her new job in the spring this year. The acting general manager, Karsten Lien, will leave his position and start working at the Norwegian Mapping Authority.
The Nordic countries got two SDI Awards
The Nordic countries got two out of ten SDI Awards at the SDInet+/EUROGI meeting in Torino 26th-27th November. The two awards were Norway Digital, and PlanDK from Denmark.
GI Norden's Award of honour to Stig Enemark
At "Kortdage 2009" in Kolding 18th-20th November, GI Norden's board members Henning Sten Hansen and Karsten Lien gave the Award of honour to FIG’s president Stig Enemark from Denmark.
GeoForum in Norway searching for new head of secretariat
Karsten Lien, head of the secretariat of GeoForum in Norway, will leave his position next spring. He has been offered a new position as adviser in the secretariat of "Norge digitalt" (Norway digital) in the Norwegian Mapping Authority. The head of secretariat of GeoForum is also the head of secretariat of GI Norden.
Nordic GIS workshop 2010
Next year's major event in GI Norden will be the Nordic GIS workshop 2010 in Selfoss, Iceland, 13th – 16th June.
GI Norden's Award of honour to FIG's President Stig Enemark
At the 21st Nordic GIS Conference in Stockholm 24th-25th September, GI Norden's president Þorbjörg Kr. Kjartansdottir announced that the Award of honour will be given to FIG’s president Stig Enemark from Denmark.
Nordic GIS Conference 2009 in Stockholm
ULI in cooperation with GI Norden was arranging the 21st Nordic GIS Conference in Stockholm 24th - 25th September 2009. More than 250 participants were attending a successful conference.
