The Nordic GIS Conference in 2000

The aim of the conference is to promote contact between organizations, companies and individuals interested in GI.

Excursions are organized that combine sightseeing with visits to companies and institutions that work in the GI field.

Conference guests are expected from all the Nordic countries. An exhibition with participants from the leading GI-vendors is being arranged in connection with the conference. The participants are the following:

GI Norden (former AM/FM-GIS, NordicRegion) is a non political Nordic organization working in close cooperation with nationalGIS organizations in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland.

GI-Norden organizes conferences every year in the Nordic countries; the 1999 Conference was held in Lund, Sweden, with 500 particpants.

GI Norden wants to reach a larger circle of people with interest in GI techniques and to develop contacts between individuals, companies and organizations.

Travel arrangements and practicalinformation:
Air travel to Iceland in regard to the conference is recommended as a weekend roundtrip, by staying overnight Saturday/Sunday.

  Entirely remodeled house with a dozen spacious rooms all with basins, telephone and radio, and TV available on request.
