The 19th Nordic GIS Conference 2007 in Herning, Denmark
The 19th Nordic GIS Conference was succesfully arranged in Herning in Denmark 1.-3. October 2008. The conference was a part of the Danish "Kortdage" and was arranged by Geoforum Danmark in cooperation with GI Norden. There were about 475 participants, most of them from Denmark.

The conference was opened by Michael Israelson, president of Geoforum Danmark. Paula Ahonen-Rainio, the president of GI Norden, welcomed all on behalf of GI Norden.
During the opening session there were keynote speeches from Peter Gorm Hansen, Kommunernes Landsforening, and by Ed Parsons from Google.
On the second day there were keynote speeches from Knut Flåthen, Norwegian Mapping and Cadastre Authority, and by Max Craglia, EU commision, Inspire.
On the last day there was a Nordic session with speeches from the Nordic countries on the status of GI.
