GI Norden Award of Honour given to Olaf Østensen
GI Norden has decided to give an award for remarkable initiatives and results within the field of Geographic Information. During the Nordic GIS Conference in Helsinki 2.-4. October, the award was given to Olaf Østensen, Norwegian Mapping and Cadastre Authority. The award was presented by GI Norden's president Henning Sten Hansen.
Olaf Østensen was given the award for his outstanding work in international standardisation, especially as chairman for ISO/TC 211.
This was the first time the award was given.
